Compact Cars to Surpass Midsize Sedans Starting from This Year

The global economy is affecting preferences of American consumers, with one of the most important effects being a switch of the consumer focus from midsize sedans to small cars.
According to the Associated Press, more and more buyers are preferring compact vehicles, such as the Chevy Cruze and the Honda Fit, over the midsize sedans that have been the vehicles of choice for Americans for multiple decades.

This is happening due to concerns about both the fuel prices and automotive financing, but this is not all, You see, the automotive industry has evolved and, anticipating this shift, has brought small cars a pretty long way from the cheap vehicles they used to be, thus making them much more appealing.

The small vehicles could surpass the midsize ones as early as the current year, as J.D. Power and Associates forecasts show.
