Do not adjust your monitors, this is not a joke! The Clio II might be a likable car, with plenty of character, but the supermini entered production way back in 1998, which makes the design 14 years old now. Yet the Brazilians have decided it’s just as good as anything else on the market and have done something crazy with it.
These photos taken by Auto Plus show what the Clio I will soon look like for the Brazilian market. It’s a “facelift” that makes it look a bit like the new Clio, the MkIV, which is going to be launched soon. The nose doesn’t fit the lines of the car at all, and looks too long.

The car will be presented in late October at the Sao Paulo Auto Show, and sales will begin shortly after that.

The front isn’t the only thing that’s changed, as down the side you’ll notice the protective plastic strips for the doors are gone, and the mirrors are smaller and higher (and uglier). The boot lid is also new, not the shape itself, but the fact it’s got no housing for the number plate, which is now in the bumper.

Mihnea's favorite cars have already been built, the so-called modern classics from the '80s and '90s. He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
