Classic Rolls-Royce Gets Blown GM Engine, Becomes Luxury Dragster [Video][Photo Gallery]

And if you thought the Amazon was ludicrous enough, how about a classic Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow sitting on Hoosier drag tires and with a blower on top of its General Motors engine? No joke! This contraption that showed up via Speed Hunters is powered by a 462 cubic inch V8 powerplant with a 14/71 Mooneyham blower and a pair of Holley Dominator carbs. The owner also fitted a set of Hurts Lightning Rods, a QA1 suspension, Strange axles, Wildwood calipers and Weld Racing Convo Pro wheels to the car.
But the British limousine get even more interesting once we go inside, where the leather upholstery and the wood trimming has been kept in place even though the interior gained a full competition roll cage.
Unfortunately, we don’t know whether or not this Rolls-Royce completed a quarter mile yet, but it sure was a show stopper at the Alastaro Nitronationals in Finland last month. A Sir, not a racer, eh?
