It might sound crazy what we’re about to say, but we love it when the craziest ideas become reality. After all, what’s the automotive world without the spark of wildness and the flame of change.
This next project comes from The R’s Tuning, a lesser known company from Irvine, California, which we’ve been following for a long time now Their idea, or rather their customer’s idea was to take the CLA 45 AMG to the next level with a custom carbon fiber wing taken straight from the world of touring cars.

The carbon fiber custom wing is bolted directly into the boot lid, its struts grabbing ahold on either side of the license plate. The part is made by Voltex Racing Suzuka Japan and if we’re not mistaken, it was revealed last year at the Tokyo Auto Salon.

We did a bit of digging through their parts catalog. It seems these wings are designed for formula racing vehicles, so they’re the real deal, and can be made from 1,350mm to 1,700mm.

As you all know, the CLA 45 is the baby AMG model in America, as well as the one with the smallest engine. Its 2.0-liter mill is derived from the one on the CLA 250, but has been tuned into the highest specific output series production unit of this size. If that doesn’t merit a huge wing, we don’t know what does!

He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
