While the German automakers are locked in battle to see who can make the best sportscar out of a family hatchback, French carmaker Citroen is having another go at the perfect luxury experience. Ahead of the upcoming Paris Motor Show, the unveiled a new concept called the Divine DS.
This is the first European concept launched since PSA decided to turn Citroen and DS into separate car brands with different identities. You can definitely tell the Divine is in a totally different league from the likes of the DS3, even though it clearly borrows its headlight style.

Key highlights of the design, like the interior or the taillights, take on the appearance of a multi-faceted surface made up of small, interlocking triangles. The cabin also boasts a new headliner design, inspired by tree branches, while the jewel-incrusted dash is sure to make you go "oh la la".

Citroen also revealed the Divine DS's specs ahead of its Paris Motor Show debut. The car is 4.21 meters long, 1.98 meters wide and 1.35 meters tall. This makes it about the same length as a C4 hatchback, but much, much wider. It's proportions and well rounded rear quarters remind us of the Alfa Romeo Brera. So, are the French copying an old Italian design? Not really. And even if they were, comparing the DS to a Brera is high praise.

Power comes from one of the most impressive engines in PSA's arsenal. the same 1.6-liter turbo used by the Peugeot RCZ R means an be found under that sculpted bonnet, delivering 270 PS at 6,000 rpm and 330 Nm (243 lb-ft) from 1,900 rpm.
