Citroen has brought its superb CXPERIENCE concept to the Paris Motor Show, and it looks as great in real life as it did in the press photos that were published one month before its public debut.

The CXPERIENCE Concept is a futuristic model that shows a few of the ideas that the design team wanted to place on a vehicle. While not anticipating a production model that will follow its lines, as some automakers tend to do, the CXPERIENCE concept focuses on showing a taste of the future.

With Citroen's concept cars, this works in the same way that “amuse-bouche” in French cuisine shows diners what to expect of the feast that lies on the menu.

As you can observe, the Citroen CXPERIENCE Concept is a saloon that is longer than the defunct C6. It has a two-box configuration and only offers room for four people, as the rear bench has been split into two joined seats, each tailored to fit a human body with the utmost comfort.

The French brand has also eliminated the B-pillar, and the rear doors have a reverse opening. Since the concept vehicle does not have to pass any safety tests, the automaker can get away with a design like this without anyone batting an eye.

Curiously, the exhibit has sculpted doors that have thick frames, so someone at Citroen has considered rigidity when designing this automobile.

On the inside, the CXPERIENCE has a compelling contrast for its occupants, which are faced with a bright yellow upholstery that is contrasted by wood trim.

The dash has a minimalist design, which could end up in production cars, especially if you consider that it appears to be a futuristic evolution of the one found in the C4 Cactus crossover.

Citroen says that the CXPERIENCE is a plug-in hybrid that mates a gasoline unit to an electric motor, and that it could drive up to 60 kilometers in full electric mode with a full battery.

The most interesting part of this model is its exterior design, which looks stunning from the front and the sides. The rear has not captured our hearts like the front, but it is still not disappointing to glance.
