Chrysler Brings 200 S Concept to LX Spring Festival

Even though the Chrysler 200 S has not been officially revealed yet, the automaker has taken the time to present a concept version of the car at the recent 2011 edition of the LX Spring Festival being held in California. Those expecting a bit of performance from something wearing an ‘S’ badge on the boot will be a bit disappointed, as this is only a trim level.

The model is scheduled to enter production later this year and will be the first of a range that includes the 300 sedan and the Town and Country. Although Chrysler is calling this a concept, it looks as production-ready as it anything that the American carmaker makes, so let’s get acquainted with the details of the 200 S.

Offered exclusively with a V6 engine, the 'S' will come with several unique styling features such as a special finish on the grille, dark headlamp surrounds, bespoke 18-inch tuner-inspired aluminum wheels, black leather seats with suede inserts and a Boston Acoustics speaker system.

All that will be added to the extensive features list of the standard cars, which comes with leather-wrapped steering wheel with integrated controls for audio and speed control, leather-wrapped shifter knob, air conditioning, front and side air-bags, electronic stability control with brake assist and traction control, automatic headlamps with LED light pipe accents, LED tail-lamps, power windows and locks and remote keyless entry.

The car comes with a 283 horsepower 3.6-liter Pentastar engine mated to a six-speed automatic transmission. The Detroit automaker has not released any pricing information about the car, but we can expect it to cost more than the $31,990 of the 200 Limited.
