Chrysler Announces Wireless Car Charging System

Chrysler Group’s Mopar division has been quick to take advantage of a brand new development in the world of mobile handheld devices and is the first to offer wireless in-car charging as a dealer-fitted option.
This can work with iPhone, Blackberry, MP3 Players and Droid-based devices. It will be available for $199.99, plus installation (part number 82213216) from the Mopar catalog.

The system uses a pad measuring 8.27 inches by 9.5 inches by 3.25 inches that is installed at the bottom of the center console of the Dodge Dart, which will launch by summer.

“At Mopar, we look for every single opportunity to make our customers’ lives easier,” said Pietro Gorlier, President and CEO of Mopar, Chrysler Group LLC’s service, parts and customer-care brand. “Our industry-first in-vehicle wireless charging system is the perfect solution for those connected customers who are always on the go.”
