Dropped back in 1978, the highly acclaimed Charger was unsuccessfully revived in 1983 as the L-body and then in 2006 as a full size four-door sedan. What’s the most annoying part of the new Charger? The four-door part, of course.
Purists find it hard to cope with a four-door Charger, though even the classic muscle was a full size sedan place above the Challenger. While some are complaining and others are driving it as it is, a musclecar enthusiast grabbed a hammer a built a modern classic Charger of his own using a... Chrysler 300C SRT8. Yes, you may raise your eyebrows...
This “Chrysler 300 Charger” was built in over 3,000 hours of hard work, in which several authentic Dodge Charger body parts had to be fitted on the Chrysler’s chassis. Though the exterior went classic, the new contraption kept all the modern SRT8 features, like Brembo brakes, SRT 20-inch wheels, the 2006 300C interior and the 6.1-liter Hemi engine. You must also noticed that the 300C lost two of its doors...
Besides the body panels, the unique Charger also inherited the 1969 head and tail lamps, but retained the SRT logos and graphics. We really don’t know how to call it... maybe reverse-restomod would be appropriated, but we do know that we like it a lot. And by the way, this was built in Canada!
