Even though I don’t want to start (again) the war between the KTM and BMW fans, I am glad to see the 1190 Adventure R ridden like it was intended to be ridden and showing the world what real off-road nerve is all about.
Of course, in order to squeeze every bit of might from this bike, a top-rider was needed, and you’ll be glad to see Chris Birch aboard this bike. An X-treme Enduro champion who has tested his guts and skill in the mind-blowing RedBull Romaniacs tournament he also won, Birch is one of the best choices to show what the 1190 Adventure R can do.
Rocky shelves, muddy roads and lots of loose debris, they all seem to be the kind of surface both Chris and the KTM enjoy the most. I believe this is one of the best promo videos for KTM’s new flagship bike, and it is worth thousandfold all the brochures and marketing tricks used to sell it.
While it’s obvious that dozens of riders will go wash their bikes, have pics of them taken and list them for sale towards a new 1190 Adventure R, the biggest and most important question after watching this video is whether KTM’s rival, the R1200GS can match this.
In other words… “come forth GS, show me how god your kung fu is!”
