Hello and welcome to another eco US boxing match: in the green corner we have the all-electric Nissan Leaf, while in the green corner, we can see the extended range Chevrolet Volt.

During the rounds that took place in the first half of the current year, the Leaf managed to stay on top of its GM rival, as Detnews writes. However, we now have a premiere: the October sales figures show that Chevrolet sold 1,108 units of the Volt, which can not only be translated into a major percent increase over the vehicle’s September sales (723 units), but also outshines the Nissan Leaf’s October sales of 849 vehicles by a hefty margin.

However, you won’t see GM celebrating anything yet, as the company is still behind its Volt sales target for this year, which had been set at 10,000 units. Going further, we’ll tell you that the Leaf still wins if we look at the big picture, as it managed to convince 8.048 customers, versus the Volt’s 5,003.

Now that Ford has established its Focus EV price greater than Leaf. This may increase demand for the Leaf.

The Leaf is a toy car. Who would buy a car with such a limited range?

Can we please stop with the Leaf vs Volt articles. It's ridiculous. Never mind the fact it's apples and oranges anyways. That would be because the Leaf is a glorified golf cart whereas the Volt is a legitmate replacement for a gas car. If that doesn't make the 2 apples and oranges I don't know what is. So that is point 1.

Point 2. This stupid comparison of sales numbers. There are a lot of reasons for the numbers and one selling more than the other at this point and one selling more than the other previously and the totals being higher for one than the other at this point. Almost NONE of those reasons are discussed. Instead there is this ridiculous point of view that these numbers somehow directly translate into a popularity contests. Even if it was not apples and oranges anyways.
