Although it has been nominated among the worst subcompact cars of 2014 by Consumer Reports, the Chevrolet Spark remains very popular in many markets, including Mexico.
And to celebrate the small vehicle’s in the country, Chevrolet has launched a special edition version of the Spark, called Dot. Based on the Spark LTZ, the Dot model comes with silver dotted stripes on its hood and rear fascia, body color side skirts, 14-inch alloy wheels and a chromed exhaust tip.
Inside, the stripe theme continues on the Graphite Light Grey seats, while the doors and the dashboard feature grey or red inserts. A three-spoke leather-wrapped steering wheel with audio controls is included as standard.
Available in three exterior colors, Red Chip, White Mega and Black Net, the 2014 Chevrolet Spark Dot is priced from MXN 176,500, which means around $13,300 at current exchange rates.
Introduced in 2010, the third-generation Spark received a facelift in 2012 and it’s being readied for retirement, as a redesign model is expected to arrive for the 2015 model year.
Little is known about the next-generation Spark, but General Motors is already testing prototypes in Europe. Last month, a camouflaged new Spark was caught stretching its legs in Sweden alongside a possible replacement for the Opel Agila.
