Chevrolet Has High Hopes for Roomier 2014 Impala
Renowned for its increased torsional rigidity and roomy interior, the Impala evolved through the years and although it lost some of its luxurious touches, it still remained a top vehicle in the Chevrolet lineup.
With the tenth-generation Impala on the way, the Detroit-based manufacturer focused on creating the market’s most spacious four-door sedan with the use of high-tech “virtual environment” tools. Built to improve sense of roominess, to offer more headroom, knee spread and better visibility, the new Impala is expected to “impress its customers”.
“Using various advanced technologies, we were able to make dimensional and design modifications in a virtual environment before locking down on a final architecture,” said Crystal Windham, director of Chevrolet passenger car interior design. “These steps are necessary to develop a solid foundation to build on to achieve the best spaciousness, comfort and overall design that will impress our customers.”
Will the 2014 Impala live up to its iconic heritage? That’s one thing we can’t be sure of right now, but it seems that Chevrolet is making great efforts towards its brand new “Find New Roads” motto.
