Chevrolet Corvette C7 Caught Testing

A keen eyed car fan caught a glimpse of a camouflaged prototype of the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette C7. Even though the heavily disguised prototype didn’t show much in the way of details, this particular example seems to have a stretched wheelbase, when compared to previous test mules. Speculations have hinted at the new C7 as having a mid-mounted engine, however, this early mule’s long bonnet can put those rumors to rest, thus GM seems to be opting for the same recipe it used on the previous generation car.
The new Vette is expected to go on sale in the early part of next year sporting GM’s latest V8 which is expected to get a reduction in capacity from 6.3 liters to as little as 5.5 liters in the ongoing quest for efficiency. Rumors of the C7 getting a turbocharged V6 have also arisen, however it would be a bold move by Chevrolet and it may not appeal to the purists and thus dent the new car’s sales appeal.

Not many details about chassis or suspension changes have surfaced, but we believe that they will improve - however they won't drastically change the current car’s setup.
