When it comes to tuning, the Land Rover Defender is a perfect candidate to anything that counts as tuning. Bigger wheels, a lift kit, funky paint, leather interior, a Rover V8 engine, you name it, it's a sweetheart of the British tuning scene. Still, the peeps from Chelsea Truck Co. upped the ante with this particular Landie.
Starting life as a simple 2.2-liter turbo diesel Defender in 110 Station Wagon configuration, this 2012 Land Rover received all the bells and whistles available from the Chelsea Truck Co., a division of famous UK tuner Kahn Design. With 15,894 miles on the clock, a single owner, and a £29,875 sticker, this is a bargain.
It's a bargain not for its impeccable condition, but because of the updates the Defender at hand received. Starting with an X-Lander front grille, the Chelsea Truck Co. treatment also consists of wide front and rear fender wings with integrated vents and bolt apertures, as well as wide wing wheel arches. These represent only the beginning of the list though.
The aggressive-looking bumper and shadow chrome headlamps, satin black roof, aluminum bumper sump guard, bonnet and side vents with stainless steel mesh, all of them are included in the previously mentioned price. What makes it really special for us is the way the Corris Grey paint job contrasts with the red accents of the front grille and 16-inch 1939 Retro wheels, as well as the exceptional spare wheel cover.
Built upon a high-specification LR Defender 2.2, inside you get everything from air con to heated seats and a heated windshield. Because the driver spends more time behind the wheel than admiring the exterior, the tuner didn't forget to dress the pedals in machined aluminum and the rest of the cabin in leather.
It's an incredible machine this and, if we had the pounds sterling, we would've bought it this instance.
