Catavolt S6, a New Production Electric Street Bike [Video]
Just like other manufacturers, such as Brammo, eCRP, Zero or Lightning, Catavolt (nice name, by the way) has been working on a street-legal version of their racing bike. It looks like the new production motorcycle is ready and will be marketed under the codename S6.
Catavolt S6 sports a 20 kW engine mounted in the rear wheel, but customers also have the possibility to ask for a 40kW one. The estimated range Catavolt announced so far is around 80 km (just under 50 miles) at highway speed and almost double for more laid back city rides.
A 4-hour charging time is really neat and the estimated 3000 cycles seem pretty decent for this 250cc class-compliant ride. The expected price is around €14,330 ($18,735) so no surprise here. We're looking forward to see it battle the rest on the dedicated markets.
