It was the latest model then, but some time had passed since the generation's launch so I told myself it would be bug-free, just the ... Continue reading >

Fresh photos and a couple of new details regarding the a.d. Tramontana revised version, codenamed R-Edition, came out today despite the fact that official information was expected before its official unveiling in Girona. Autoweek.nl informed today that the upgraded model incorporates several lightweight materials that obviously help the car achieve greater performances compared to the previous version. The weight distribution is now 50-50, with engineering removing no less than 92 kilograms from the initial car.

Both the body and the chassis are based on lightweight materials (count here carbon fiber and aluminum) which is probably the best way to reduce the overall weight of the car. The car is now shoed with light carbon fiber wheels and features a 50 millimeters shorter chassis, two elements that contribute to the

lighter weight of the car.

The vehicle is powered by a Mercedes-Benz V12 5.5-liter engine that develops more than 500 horsepower (the maximum output varies by the engine version and the upgrades the manufacturers may apply).

In terms of performance, the a.d. Tramontanta R-Edition achieves at least impressive figures: 0 to 100 km/h acceleration done in 3.6 seconds with the 200 km/h milestone reached in 10.15 seconds and maximum speed electronically-limited to 325 km/h (approximately 202 mph).

The R-Edition has been customized with various new elements as well, including power steering and traction control plus restyled gauges and a new steering wheel. The front and rear spoilers have been replaced with new ones, according to the aforementioned source.

Unless you're Richie Rich, buying one of these a.d. Tramontana R-Edition models is, let's say, impossible because each unit will cost around 385,000 euros, without taxes.
