The Kurt Caselli Foundation and Red Tide Pictures announce they are working on a movie about Caselli’s life and racing career. Kurt Caselli tragically died last November during the Baja 1000 rally, after crashing his bike, most likely due to hitting a wild animal, as KTM officials believe after examining the wreck.
After becoming a living legend among American off-road riders, Kurt Caselli’s next big step in career was to go after Dakar glory. He substituted for KTM factory rider Marc Coma in the 2013 edition of the Dakar rally and finished in the 31st position, out of a total of 125 riders who managed to cross the finish line of the last stage.

After Cyril Despres announced he would no longer be a part of the KTM factory racing, switching colors for the Yamaha Racing Team, Kurt Caselli was confirmed as a full-time factory rider for the Austrian manufacturer, and both he and the team had high hopes for the 2014 Dakar.

Unfortunately, Caselli’s stellar career came to an early end at the age of 30, and his family created the Kurt Caselli Foundation, an organization whose goal is to provide a safer environment for off-road racers. The Caselli 66 - Ride the Dream movie will be released on April 29, and will be available for free streaming and download via iTunes. Check with the Kurt Caselli Foundation and find out more about how to get involved.
