Carlex Design Previews New MINI Countryman Project

The Cooper is supposed to be an emblematic car for the MINI brand, yet its crossover cousin is running rings around it in terms of customer demand. Countrymen are the sexiest little things money can buy, popular with the ladies for their looks and with the guys for the performance they deliver.

But since they're so popular, it's become hard to stand out in one, something all MINI owners crave.

Thankfully there are people who can fix that problem lickety split. Carlex Design has already proved they knew what they were doing with the steampunk themed car that became ever so popular across the internet. Their latest project promises to be even more amazing.

It's called the MiniRoy, a gold and purple themed car, both inside and out. This is an early draft, but Carlex has already promised they will use silk, wood and thick wool carpet like you'd find in a Rolls Royce.

We know from previous projects that Carlex Design has painstaking attention to the smallest of details, but we never expected them to create custom pedals or a new wood steering wheel with a metal center.

As for the exterior department, the same sort of prudish color was used, most likely a mate wrap from WrapStyle. The wheels, chrome trim and door handles are all golden, project a very noble yet somehow understated theme.

Mihnea's favorite cars have already been built, the so-called modern classics from the '80s and '90s. He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
