Carjacker Crashes Car to Pieces, Survives
The day started nicely for the thief, who found a 1993 Honda Accord (coincidentally, the Accord was the most stolen nameplate in the US in 2009) waiting to be grabbed, with the driver still inside and all. Without giving it a second thought, the carjacker took the car and off he went.
Behind him, the owner of the car who, according to thenewstribune.com, wasn't a native English speaker, tried his best to tell the police what happened. The officers apparently understood him and they spotted the stolen Honda.
A chase followed through city streets, at speeds of up to 70 mph. The carjacker, apparently not such a good driver, end up hitting a tree. The impact was so violent that the car broke in half, with pieces flying all around.
The above incident is the dangerous aspect of being a carjacker. The lucky part comes in right about now: the driver survived and, not only that, he is in no serious condition. Miraculously, no one else was injured either by the flying debris.
As you can see, the crash was significant, even if some of the damages you see were caused by first responders, who had to chop their way into reaching the pinned down driver.
