Dacia Sandero Bioethanol Launched in France

CAR PROFILE

Dacia, Renault’s Romanian brand, has introduced an ethanol version of the Sandero hatchback on the French market. The car uses Dacia’s 90HP 1.6 liter 8-valve engine, which has been converted to run on E85 biofuel, besides gasoline. The unit features strengthened valves, optimized cylinder head cooling and oil-jet cooled pistons. Special, corrosion-resistant materials have been used for the fuel tank, fuel system and fuel pump. The Dacia Sandero 1.6 MPI 90 Bioethanol emits 170 grams of CO2/km. The “well to wheel” CO2 emissions of the car are estimated to reach 108 grams of CO2/km, an achievement that makes it a member of the Dacia eco2 family.
