Dacia Sandero Bioethanol Launched in FranceCAR PROFILEDacia, Renault’s Romanian brand, has introduced an ethanol version of the Sandero hatchback on the French market. The car uses Dacia’s 90HP 1.6 liter 8-valve engine, which has been converted to run on E85 biofuel, besides gasoline. The unit features strengthened valves, optimized cylinder head cooling and oil-jet cooled pistons. Special, corrosion-resistant materials have been used for the fuel tank, fuel system and fuel pump. The Dacia Sandero 1.6 MPI 90 Bioethanol emits 170 grams of CO2/km. The “well to wheel” CO2 emissions of the car are estimated to reach 108 grams of CO2/km, an achievement that makes it a member of the Dacia eco2 family.
