When you come into this garage, you come into my dream” Adelbert Engler, the owner of a restoration and repair shop located in the city of Heusden-Zolder, Belgium says while his Mustang Horse necklace shines at his neck. Ever since he was a kid he’s been spending whatever spare money he’d get to buy a new Ford Mustang scale model.
Ford Europe recently uploaded a video of the Mustang enthusiast as he’d explain how everything started. He remembers he was only 8-years old when Engler first stepped into the shop and payed 50 cents for his first scale model. “After that I became completely crazy about Mustangs”, he says. The man has been collecting the little ponies ever since and now his shop is being visited by people from all over the world.

The 5,500 models Engler has collected for over 40 years are nicely showcased in the back of a 25-meter display case he build specially, three years ago, when he transferred his entire collection into a new garage.

And the fanatic-collector is not stopping here, since every week or so he is getting a new package with a newer Mustang inspired collectable, things such as a whiskey bottle in the shape of the famous pony car and even RC cars.

The rarest issues he currently owns are two Edelbrock models from the sisters Camee and Christy Edelbrock, which Engler claims took eight years to get. Well, that is one heck of a hobby.
