Customized Africa Twins are about as rare as people who can fly by themselves. Well, maybe a bit easier to find than flying humans, as Pipeburn found one. Welcome Whiskey Throttle, the creation of Lorenzo "Tenzing" Rapparini, the man behind Artie CraftsWorks.
With an 88 650 Africa Twin at his disposal, Lorenzo thought to transform it into a really unique bike, packing the awesome terrainability of the machine, yet bringing a modern touch to the somewhat retro looks.

The fuel tank is the main visual attraction of the Whiskey Throttle, a daring and eye candy fabrication. Lorenzo used EPS as the main structure, added clay for the finishing touches. Then it was fiberglass molding directly on the model.

A custom seat was installed, together with a KTM450 fender. A KTM LC4 donated the rear shock, but Rapparini had to fabricate a different linkage for the longer damper. A Marzocchi front end was installed and Michelin Anakee rubber now shows this awesome scrambler for great dual-sport traction.

A Yamaha MT03 headlight adorns not the front end of the Whiskey Throttle, with Trailtech instruments and a miniature carbon fiber dash, LED lights and a minimalist-design fuel cap. Lorenzo stripped off pretty much all the parts which collided with the new look of the Africa Twin, and the exposed radiator is as hardcore and badass as it gets, even if longer hauls will need cleaning dead insects from it regularly.

And with the weight dropping from 230kg (507 lbs) to 180 kg (397 lbs), you can imagine this bike has become a lot more nimble...
