Camaro Convertible Confirmed for 2011
"The convertible was never canceled. It was retimed. It will be the first quarter of 2011 for the start of production," General Motors spokesman Terry Rhadigan said. "We always thought it would be one year after the coupe," he said. "Instead we are going two."
Technical specifications are yet to be released but the car will probably be based on the 2010 Chevy Camaro sports coupe which is already available at GM dealers across the United States.
The 2010 Chevrolet Camaro is being offered in a choice of three different trim levels, LS, LT and SS, with multiple engine configurations, the most powerful of all being fitted onto the SS, a 6.2l V8 powerplant, which develops 400 horsepower. Camaro comes in ten exterior colors Black, Victory Red, Rally Yellow, Silver Ice Metallic, Cyber Gray Metallic, Aqua Blue Metallic, Inferno Orange Metallic, White and Imperial Blue Metallic and Red Jewel Tincoat.
Pricing for the Convertible is yet to be announced but the new model will probably be a bit more expensive than the base model. And to give you an idea on this, prices for the 2010 Camaro start at $29,775 (for the LS) and go as far as $34,180 for the 2SS version.
