Cal Crutchlow Getting Closer to Ducati Once More

Mid-season has always been a time of turmoil in the premier class as new deals are being made. Teams and sponsors, riders and teams, sponsors and riders, they are all trying to secure the best opportunities for the upcoming season.

One of the fellows who is rumored to return to the Ducati camp is Cal Crutchlow. A factory rider for one year and failing to deliver any result with the old Desmosedici GP14, Crutchlow put an early end to his contract with Borgo Panigale and jumped ship to CWM LCR Honda.

Aboard his factory-supported Honda RC213V, Crutchlow fared way better than with the year-ago factory Ducati. Half-way into the championship, Crutchlow sits 8th with 66 points, one down from Dani Pedrosa and two ahead of Pol Espargaro. Still, it looks like he is eyeing Ducati once more.

Cal Crutchlow is said to repent for his defection from the Borgo Panigale camp

If we are to believe gpone, Crutchlow is now feeling a bit sorry for leaving Ducati over the issues he had to deal with when he rode the GP14. According this source, Crutchlow has informed Ducati about his disponibility to return, and apparently a lot of talking over this has already taken place.

In case Ducati accepts Crutchlow's proposal, the Manx rider will become a part of the satellite team Pramac, as Ducati will retain its two Andreas, Dovizioso and Iannone. As for the Pramac riders, Danilo Petrucci sits much better than his teammate Yonny Hernandez.

Petrucci has 51 points and is 11th in the current rankings, whereas Hernandez is 13th, but with only 32 points. Even more, it was Petrucci who showed the greatest improvement over the previous year, and it looks like Pramac is only beginning to tap into his potential.

So far, neither Ducati, nor Crutchlow aren't saying a thing. However, paddock whispers say that a renewed relationship between the two is most likely to happen. As Pramac is rumored to receive new Desmosedici bikes for the 2016 championship, the performance expectations will also be greater.

In case Pramac rides with the GP15 bike next season, we might also see their pilots battling for the higher position in the races, and this adds to the overall excitement 2016 comes with.
