Rumor has it Cadillac is working on a new badge design that will drop the laurel wreaths that surround the company’s crest since the 1980s. The new cleaner-looking emblem is said to appear on a new concept vehicle that will be introduced at this year’s Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance.
Contacted by Automotive News, a Cadillac spokesman declined to comment on a logo redesign, but confirmed that the automaker will show a new concept car in California next month. However, an insider at Cadillac told our source that the company will ditch the wreath because it’s seen as “outdated and obsolete”.
The new logo is part of Cadillac’s plan to make its products more attractive to younger buyers and European customers alike. The first production cars to sport the new emblem will arrive no earlier that the 2015 model year.
