The order guide for the 2017 Cadillac CT6 is now online, complete with new exterior colors, an updated CUE infotainment system, and many more goodies. Unfortunately, however, the long-due twin-turbo LT5 V8 is nowhere to be found.
Back when the Cadillac CT6 was still in pre-production form, the rumor mill suggested that the range-topping model would get a 4.2-liter V8 engine. Internally known as the LT5, the other thing we are aware of this powerplant is that it is a twin-turbo unit. Cadillac president Johan de Nysschen confirmed the engine on multiple occasions, yet the new mill failed to arrive for 2017.

That said, the 4.2-liter twin-turbo V8 will most probably be ready for production by the time the 2018 Cadillac CT6 will go on sale. In the meantime, the 2017 model year benefits from a flurry of updates and more visual drama.

Let’s start with the visual drama. As per the order guide attached as a PDF at the end of this article, Graphite Black has been dropped for 2017. In its place, the full-size luxury sedan gains Phantom Gray Metallic (RPO code G7Q) and Bronze Dune Metallic (RPO code GMU). Both exterior finishes are available at extra charge. Other than a darker finish for the taillights, the 2017 Cadillac CT6 gets unspecified “front fascia changes” for the Premium Luxury grade.

Inside, the 2017 Cadillac CT6 boasts CUE Infotainment Info 2.6. What does version 2.6 add? For starters, CUE 2.6 now comes with apps such as Pandora, iHeart Radio, The Weather Channel, and much more. Android Auto is on the menu as well, as is a feature called Teen Driver. Pricing has yet to be announced for the 2017 Cadillac CT6 flagship sedan. Don’t, however, expect the updated model differ too much from the outgoing Cadillac CT6.

As a brief refresher, the 2016 Cadillac CT6 starts from $54,490 for the 2.0-liter turbo, sans the destination charge. The 3.6-liter naturally aspirated V6 will set you back at least $56,490, while the 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 powerplant costs $65,390, delivers 404 horsepower, and comes with AWD.
