The automotive realm usually sees so-called car 'battles' between German and American models, or German and Japanese models, and even Japanese against American models. But this time, China is in with the BYD Tang.
Wait, what is the BYD Tang? Well, the Tang is a plug-in hybrid SUV built in China by BYD Autos, which if you remember, is well-connected to Warren Buffet. Since it's the offspring of a Chinese carmaker, it has a lot to prove in order to make a decent splash among the shark-infested market segment it is trying to enter.

So, what to do, what to do, the Chinese wondered. Well, let's take the Volkswagen Tiguan and the BMW X6 and pit them against our Tang, someone must have thought.

Just to make things more interesting, the contest had a few rounds. First of all, the cars were subjected to a slope-climbing challenge on an uphill course (20-grade slope), with two wheels on an ice patch.

Believe it or not, the BYD Tang outsmarted the BMW X6 and the VW Tiguan and was the fastest to climb. We won't tell you what time each car managed to set, but you should know that the Tiguan was way behind.

In the second part of the video - which is way more fun by our standards - the three cars confronted each other in a tug of war session on ice. Want to know who won? You'd be surprised as well, but it's better if you head below and see for yourselves. You'll find a video there but before you do that, here's a hint: the BYD Tang is available for pre-order. Just saying.
