It's been three decades of absence from the motorcycle industry for Spanish makers Bultaco, but the company is back with a bang. An electric bang, that is, as Bultaco is no longer manufacturing gas-powered motorcycles and replaced petrol with electrons.
About one year ago we brought you the fist news from the new, electric Bultaco camp. The maker revealed the first prototypes for the Rapitan and Rapitan Sport bikes, but now it's time to announce having inked the first contracts with a dealer that will see to the marketing and sales of the new Bultaco machines.

Grupo Espinal is going to take care of Bultaco's presence in Catalunya, with a showroom in Barcelona and two other spaces dedicated to the brand in Ganollers and Sabadell.

Dealership network growth envisages Germany, France, Italy and the UK

This is only the first step in Bultaco's master plan, as a stronger presence in Spain is the next step. Bultaco and Grupo Espinal are planning to expand the number of dealerships in Spain and move the first 175 Bultaco Brinco two-wheelers.

The Rapitan motorcycles are expected to become available for purchase later this year. Bultaco is also eyeing entering four other strong motorcycle markets in Europe: Germany, France, Italy and the UK and is not shy to call them "priority markets".

It will be interesting to see how the new electric Bultaco motorcycles will sell, especially as they come with premium price tags. Part bicycle and part motorcyle, the Brinco model is said to arrive at €4,800 ($5,300).
