About a week ago, a Mercedes-Benz spokesperson said the six-wheeled G63 AMG won’t be officially imported in the United States. That doesn’t mean the German behemoth won’t be rolling its wheels on US soil, as at least one company is getting ready to offer an armor-plated version.
Were talking about the Texas Armoring Corporation, who will be providing bulletproof Mercedes G63 AMG six-wheelers to any customer willing to pay a 75 percent upfront deposit for the vehicle’s hefty USD1,335,000 price tag.
The B6+ armor is said to increase the truck’s weight from 3850 kg (8,847 pounds) to about 5 tons (11,000 pounds), which means the vehicle will lose some of its impressive performance figures, as Texas Armoring won’t offer any engine upgrades. On the other hand, we don’t think they will say no to modifying the Brabus version.
The first armored 6x6 off-roaders will be delivered at the end of 2014.
