Buick Verano Convertible / Cascada Rendered
You see, the Buick Verano sedan is based on the same architecture as the Opel Astra J range. The Cascada is, in fact, a long wheelbase version of the Astra J hatchback fitted with the same sort of suspension as the GTC.
When the Cascada makes its way to the US, it will have it’s pick of either a 2.4-liter Ecotec engine that produces 180 horsepower and 171 lb-ft (232 Nm) of torque or the new 2.0-liter turbo rated at 250.
However, the Cascada was launched with a brand new aluminum block 1.6-liter turbo rated initially at 170 PS, but which will eventually arrive with 200 PS as well. There’s been talk of Chevrolet switching from the naturally aspirated 2.4 to a turbo, and the 2014 model year Cruze sedan will also come with a diesel for the first time.
