Wow, Buick... seriously? $38k for a convertible Astra? Price aside, there's something about the Cascada we just love, especially in this shade of blue that's unique to the ST special edition.
Don't get too excited, because Buick's ST is different to Ford's ST. That means you get a 1.6-liter turbo with 200 horsepower that struggles to cope with all that weight.

ST is a common denominator for top-end Buick models and follows in the footsteps of the Enclave Sport Touring, LaCrosse Sport Touring and more recent Regal and Verano Sport Touring.

The color is called True Blue Metallic, and it's the only one you can have for this car. Considering it's a special edition and suits the convertible's oceanic nature perfectly, nobody should mind.

Also, the Cascada ST features these standard 20-inch alloy wheels with a 5-spoke design. They kind of remind us of the 2016 Civic, but we're sure that's down to coincidence.

The $37,885 base price comes as a surprise since Buick has not yet revealed pricing for the rest of the 2017 Cascada range. But if they stay the same, all the trim levels will fall below this one.

"The Mille Mitten celebrates the unique combination of features Michigan has to offer, from the deep blue of the Great Lakes to stunning star-filled nights deep in the forest," said Ben Bator, Mille Mitten founder. "The Cascada is the perfect companion for this memorable experience, and the new Sport Touring builds off the same color palette that makes nature so inspiring."

We're sure there's a small market for it somewhere out there. But as unbiased and objective journalists, we can't find the appeal of the Cascada ST. Sure, it looks as classy as a BMW 6 Series from a distance, but it doesn't handle like one. That engine gets you to 60 in more than 8 seconds, so if you are looking for a sporty experience... yeah, keep looking.

If you're willing to look past its relative lack of rear seat space, the BMW 2 Series Convertible is a much better car that is within reach. The $38,950 base price doesn't give you that much stuff, but at least the badge will stop your car from depreciating like a stone.
