Rumors about Bugatti readying a 1,500-1,600 BHP Super Veyron have been running around for quite some time, and the fact that the Molsheim company had nothing to say about them fuel reports to claim that such a vehicle could arrive as early as 2014.
But the Super Veyron saga ended abruptly today, when Bugatti president Dr. Wolfgang Schreiber denied that his company is developing such a supercar. Speaking to Autoblog at the 2013 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, Schreiber said there won’t be a Super Veyron, but confirmed that the VW-owned manufacturer will launch a replacement once Veyron production ends in 2015.
No other details have been revealed, but Autoblog claims that the current Veyron won’t receive additional engine upgrades, with the remaining production to be fitted with the 1,200 HP quad-turbocharged W16 units.
