Jaguar Land Rover’s supercharged V8 is an excellent starting point for a luxury tuning project.
This time, the Jaguar F-Type’s supercharged V8 unit has been modified by a tuner called VIP Design London, which created an entire package for the Coupe from Coventry, and they called it Project Predator.
According to VIP Design, fitting their package brings power to 650 BHP, and the top speed goes “in excess of” 200 MPH (321 km/h). The engine gets a power hike using a new supercharger pulley, and a software upgrade.
The latter was developed after three weeks of dyno testing, and the team claims “hugely dramatic reductions” of the 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) acceleration times. However, they do not mention their best results.
The tuners at VIP Design provide the Jaguar F-Type with a high-performance exhaust system, which lets users choose between two sound levels.
Paul Busby, managing director of the tuning specialist, considers that the stock exhaust system did not provide the proper sound from a V8 Supercar, but they claim their proposition achieves this.
Engine modifications also include performance air filters, and 200-cell catalysts for the performance exhaust system described above.
The tuning package is completed by a lowered suspension; that has reduced the ground clearance by 30 millimeters (1.18 inches). Bushings, joints, and other suspension elements have been changed with stronger parts to provide enhanced handling.
On an exterior level, the tuning kit includes a set of carbon fiber hood vents, carbon fiber splitter, and a rear diffuser made from the same material. Customers can order hand cast aluminum wheels, available in 24 design options and 28 different colors. Window tints are also accessible in a large variety.
The tuning package proposed by VIP Design starts at 12.600 pounds. The British specialist offers fitment at their facility in Warwickshire for domestic customers, while international customers can receive the required parts through specialist mailing services.
