Breitling for Bentley Supersport Light Body Watch Presented

The latest luxury creation coming from renown Swiss watchmaker Breitling is to make its world public debut at the upcoming Baselworld 2011 watch show. Dubbed Breitling for Bentley Supersports Light Body, the watch is to be produced in a very limited edition and comes as a more sport-themed model.

Details are sketchy at this point, but what we do know, is that the model is likely to be about 45mm (1.77 inch) wide and with an automatic COSC Chronometer certified chronograph movement inside.

The sportiness is given by the red and black motif of the dial, but also by the black rubber strap. As Breitling has accustomed us, this watch will also use a rotating slide rule bezel, but which is too hard to use if you’re into high speeds.

The Breitling for Bentley Supersports Light Body chronograph wristwatch has been worn by Juha Kankkunen at its recent successful attempt of setting a new world speed record on ice with a version of the Bentley Continental GTC Supersports.

Kankkunen has driven the car at the speed of 205.48 mph (330.695 km/h), thereby shattering the previous record also set by Bentley with a Continental GT in 2007.

“The event, which was witnessed by journalists and specialists from around the world, took place on the frozen waters of the Baltic sea at extreme temperatures ranging from -30 to -20°C. In thereby testing its most powerful and fastest car ever in such extreme conditions, Bentley once again displays its supremacy in both technical and motorisation terms. Like all models of the Continental range since 2002, the Supersports is equipped with a Breitling dashboard clock,” a statement from Baselworld reads.

Further details, pricing, and availability are to be announced at the 2011 Baselworld watch show.
