The first all-new bike is the the 2014 Indian Chief. With the Chief being the brand's most popular and bestselling machine of all times, this name is a great way to link the glory of the past with the bright future. And since the old Chief is still one of the most iconic bikes ever, it was only natural that the new bike bore a heartening message: "the Chief is dead, long live the Chief!"

The 2014 Indian Chief will make its first public appearance at the 73rd annual Sturgis Motorcycle Rally in South Dakota, 5-11 August, 2013. Why at Sturgis, some may ask. Just because this rally, which has become the world's biggest event of this type was started back in '36 by the Jackpine Gypsies, an Indian Motorcycle club, in Sturgis.

Finally, we're also sharing with you another very important piece of news: the price! The 2014 Indian Chief will be available at a MSRP starting at $18,999. The date when the first new Chief will reach its owners is yet to be revealed.

“We are honored to make today’s important announcements in the month of May, as it was 112 years ago this month that the very first Indian Motorcycle prototype was demonstrated to the press on the streets in Springfield, Massachusetts” said Vice President of Polaris Motorcycles Steve Menneto.

Great way to cheer for H-D's anniversary, isn't it?
