Writing about and watching everything that moves in the BMW tuning world, you probably know already that it’s pretty hard to make us gasp just by looking at a set of photos. And yet that’s exactly what happened when we first set our eyes on this beautiful set of shots featuring a stunning car.
Yes, this is a BMW i8 but it’s one like nothing you’ve ever seen before. That’s because most of the plug-in hybrid sportcars we encountered so far were dressed on one of the Bavarian company’s color choices and those are pretty limited. This time, the owner decided to go outside the box and wrap his ride in matte black.
You don’t have to believe us when we tell you that it is a game changer. You can actually see for yourself in the high res photos posted below. The curves of the car just seem to be a lot more visible, noticeable and in your face unlike with the metallic finish.
After that a set of new wheels was needed but nothing ordinary would’ve cut it for this i8. Therefore, the guys from Wheels Boutique talked to HRE and got a custom job done on a set of P101 rims. They were dressed in an original color that got a new name as well: “Frozen Blue”. Basically, the wheels had a brushed finish after which translucent blue was applied only to be the satined to get this special hue.
Measuring 22x9 inches up front and 22x10.5 inches round the back, they are noticeably larger than the standard ones but it was no problem fitting them on the car. A small drop was also included with lowering springs and it was all set for a special photo shoot.
And the photos are absolutely stunning. Forget about Kim Kardashian and her big but. This is what will get gear heads ready to .... roll faster than anything! Enjoy!
