Brabus Tuning Program for the New Mercedes E-Klasse
Brabus upgraded the eight-cylinder on the E500 by installing a special crankshaft and larger pistons which increase swept volume to 6.1 liters. The cylinder heads have been optimized for mixture flow and fitted with special camshafts.
The result of these alteration is a 462 horsepower monster, which uses an anti-slip rear differential with a locking rate of 40 percent to transfer power to the road. The E500 can now leap from naught to 100 km/hour in 4.7 seconds and tops at 305 km/hour (191 mph).
Brabus also provides a high-performance brake system for the new E-Klasse. The system consists of 375x36 millimeter (14.8x1.4 inches) vented and cross-drilled discs on the front axle with 12-piston aluminum fixed calipers. The rear axle uses 355x28 millimeter (14.0x1.1 inches) discs and six-piston calipers.
Brabus monoblock light-alloy wheels come in sizes varying from 17 to 20 inches. The largest version for the new E Klasse features either one-piece or multi-piece wheels, sized 9Jx20 on the front axle and in size 10.5Jx20 on the back. They are shoed with Pirelli and Yokohama rubbers, sized 245/30 ZR 20 on front and 285/25 ZR 20 on the back.
Customized interiors for the new E-Klasse consists of stainless-steel scuff plates, with illuminated Brabus logo, ergonomically shaped sport steering wheels and exclusive Brabus leather interiors, made from either Mastik or alcantara leather.
