BOND Records Album Exclusively for Peugeot

It’s a classic marketing technique to associate and promote the image of a car with that of a woman... or more. That's why it's no surprise to see that Peugeot turned to BOND, the all-female electronic string quartet to apply a modern interpretation to the classic Vivaldi’s Four Seasons. The mini album was recorded to mark the launch of the new 308 CC, which goes on sale on June 1, 2009.

The 308 CC features a Neck Airwave Heating System, which diffuses warm air through the head rests, protecting the head and neck from the cold. The engine range consists of two engines combined with either a manual or an automatic transmission, both with six speeds. The petrol engine with direct injection and a turbocharger (1.6-liter THP) develops 110 HP, while the diesel engine (2.0-liter HDi with FAP) develops 140 HP.

Bond also took this opportunity to introduce to the fans their new member, Helspeth Hanson, chosen to replace Haylie Ecker as a violinist. Elspeth played alongside David Beckham, Jimmy Page and Leona Lewis at last year’s handover to Britain at the closing ceremony of the Beijing Olympics.

BOND: “We were honoured to be asked by Peugeot to arrange and record our own interpretation of Vivaldi’s Four Seasons. This is a celebration of a great piece of music, but also a challenge to bring a new and free sound to the work – that is what Bond as a group is all about.”

Bond’s version of the Four Seasons is available to download exclusively from the Peugeot mini-site, www.opentoallseasons.co.uk. The British-based string quartet (Eos Chater, violin; Elspeth Hanson, violin; Gay-Yee Westerhoff, cello, and Tania Davis, viola) will also be staging several live events, free of charge for the public, that accompany the Peugeot 308 CC road-show across the country.
