BMW Unleashes Power Kits for the 135i and 335i

BMW North America wants to use the “power to the people!” slogan, introducing two performance packages for the 135i Coupe and 335i vehicles, offering you the possibility to choose between two power levels.
The stage 1 Power Kit adds an ECU remap that brings a power premium of 20 hp, for a total of 320 hp and increases the torque from 300 (406 Nm) to 332 lb-ft (450 Nm) for the auto tranny models and to 317 lb-ft (429 Nm) for the manual or DCT gearbox versions. This kit is also offered for the X6 produced up to April 2010.

BMW claims that it allows the 335i to shave 0.2 seconds off its 0 to 60 mph time, as well as reduce its 50 (80 km/h) to 75 (120 km/h) mph sprint time by half a second, also bringing a more visceral exhaust note during engine overrun.

As for stage 2 Power Kit, this offers enhanced engine cooling, using an additional water cooler and a new radiator fan, only being available on the 135i and 335i.

Both kits come with reduced launch prices until the end of the current year, with the stage 1 Power Kit retailing for $599 and stage 2 Power Kit being offered for $1,199 (the prices do no include the installation costs).

We have to mention that the kits come with BMW North America’s limited warranty and can be retrofitted using the Port Installation Program or at BMW centers.
