If thinking of the E46 BMW M3 coupe gets you all hot and bothered, than watching this next video might be too much for you. BMW's M division has just released a teaser video which previews two things, the engine sound of the next M3 and M4 and a sexy new color.
First things first, the engine. BMW has long been rumored to be return to the straight-six setup for the M3. The outgoing M3 will probably go down in history as not only the only M3 with a V8, but also probably one of the last M cars to have its own bespoke block.
The S55 engine which will be used by the two performance concept models will be a multi-turbo adaptation of the N55 used by the 335i and 435i. The 3-liter engine will produce about 420 hp, the same as the S65 4.0-liter V8, but a lot more torque.
So what about the color? Our colleague from BMW Power Blog tells us it's a gold flake color which could be a tribute to the Phoenix Yellow used by the E46 M3, which BMW desperately wants to evoke.
