If you ever visited possibly the world’s most famous train station, the Grand Central Terminal in New York, you couldn’t have missed the Vanderbilt Hall. It’s a sumptuous location inside the age-old building that accommodates the wealthiest of the visitors.
That’s exactly where the Munich Philharmonic Orchestra set up 2 days ago to entertain the audience with one of their famous recitals, sponsored by BMW. This was only one of the stops the musicians made on their way to today’s show that will be performed at Carnegie Hall.

Passing travelers and New Yorkers alike had the chance to hear some of the most beautiful music pieces ever written, played by the professionals from Munich. BMW was the force behind them that made this event possible, sponsoring the entire performance.

“We are thrilled to be back in New York for the first time since 2002 when we were last presented by Carnegie Hall,” said Paul Müller, Intendant of the Munich Philharmonic Orchestra.

“It could not start off better with a special concert for friends of BMW in the grand environment of Vanderbilt Hall at Grand Central Terminal. The Munich Philharmonic is looking forward to many more compelling projects with BMW.” he added, prior to the other two concerts they are bound to perform.

However, this is not the first time the two entities collaborated. Back in 2011, BMW supported the orchestra in the cultural initiative called “Spielfeld Klassik” (Court Classi) and since then, they became partners. The initiative presents school concerts, rehearsal visits, introductions and workshops to curious children and teenagers and enjoys support from the German government and industry.
