Everybody knows that racing cars against bikes is not the safest things to do and yet a pair of petrolheads have managed to make the most out of such a track battle, demonstrating four- and two-wheeled machines can race in peace.
We’re talking about some of the most vicious machines in their class: a Renault Megane RS and a BMW S1000-RR. While the Megane is arguably the quickest FWD machine around the ‘Ring, the BMW has 199 hp and the rest of the technical package to back it all up.

While it’s obvious that, even with all the difficult turns of the Green Hell, the bike has the advantage here, the rider and the driver show a cool level of camaraderie, putting on a nice show - the two race for about a third of the Nordschleife's length. We have the feeling that, if the rider had been aiming to disappear, he could've done it much quicker.

While the BMW is stock, the Megane, which started out in life as a 250 model, is tuned. We are talking about mods such as a KW Clubsport suspension or performance brake pads.

For those of you who haven’t kept track of the ‘Ring battles, the Megane has the ability to complete a lap of the Nordschleife in less than eight minutes.

Returning to the battle, we have a stereotypical case of the motorcycle surging ahead on the straights, with the car recovering during the braking phase and through the tight corners. Still, the melange here is one delightful piece.
