BMW Recalls C600 Sport Scooters in Canada

It's not a long time ago the BMW C600 Sport maxi scooters started selling in North America but it looks like those guys are riding them like they stole it. Or so it seems, especially after hearing about the first recall.

Some of the C600 Sport machines may be prone to loosing some of the bolts keeping the side panels in place and nobody wants such mishaps, especially when riding at very high speed on a highway.

Now, having one or mode panels in the fairing coming loose poses a major threat to the rider and passenger, but others in the traffic aren't that much safer either. So far it looks like the event did not occur, but BMW is not willing to take any risk. The number of scooters to be recalled is 58 at the moment with little prospects that machines with the same problem left unsolved will be sold form now on.

BMW C600 Sport owners will be contacted by the manufacturer and the fasteners will be changes in authorized shops by trained personnel, at BMW's expense. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration in the US, might issue a similar recall for the C600 Sport units sold there.

Owners of BMW C600GT aren't affected by this issue, so they need not panic.
