BMW R7 Motorbike Wins Best-in-Class at Pebble Beach

The BMW R7 motorbike, a 1934 classic is an exceptional exponent of the art deco movement which influenced the design of many vehicles of the era, regardless of whether they had two or four wheels. Sadly, it was merely a concept and was never put into production.

Also, it had not been seen for some 70 years, before it was rediscovered in 2005, to be restored by BMW Group Classic, only to become a part of their impressive collection of cars and bikes. It recently won the ‘Best-in-Class’ award for motorcycles at the 2012 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance.

The award was presented to the Head of BMW Group Classic, Karl Baumer, who said “The BMW R7 is one of the most extraordinary motorcycles in our collection [. . .] We are delighted that the effort to bring the BMW R7 to the Pebble Beach Concours was rewarded with Best in Class for Motorcycles.
