After introducing the LCI for the 5 Series BMW wanted to do the same to the M5 model. Therefore, they gave the super sedan a new face and a couple of new toys to play with. Amongst these new toys, the Competition Package showed up.
What is it? It’s an expensive group of optional features that are supposed to transform the M5 into the car it should’ve been in the first place. You get 15 extra HP, a lower suspension, new rear differential, tweaked front suspension and a couple of other tweaks here and there that really transform the car.
On the open road, few sedans come close to the ZCP M5 and that includes the stock M5 too. It has more than enough power and torque, in any possible gear and it will carry you and at least 3 friends or family members to the top speed of 155 mph (250 km/h) with ease. Get the MDM package and you can go up to 305 km/h (186 mph).
Comfort is there too when you need it but you won’t like living with such a car in a crowded city as you’ll have to keep it really toned down. That’s definitely not what this Bimmer likes to do, just as the guys from Car Throttle explain in the video below.
