Sharp reflexes, good tires and a perfectly functional car are the elements needed to be able to race on the Nurburgring. Sure, there are other things at play as well, but call those the basics.
As it turns out, a lot of people have no idea what they are doing when they drive on the Green Hell for the first time. The myth created around this track over the years turned it into some sort of Mecca of the automotive world and when tourist days are open, everyone wants a taste of it.

The thing is, that’s when it’s most dangerous to drive on it though. Sure, the speeds are a lot lower but the drivers are extremely unexperienced, not to mention their cars.

The man in the video below drives a brand new BMW F82 M4 but unlike those mentioned earlier, he seems to know what he’s doing. In a weird twist of faith, his reflexes are put to the test in a rather interesting incident.

Seen here chasing down a Porsche, our ‘hero’ pushes his car to the limit to keep up. At one point, the car in front of him brakes violently and, not knowing what lies ahead, our man brakes a little later than he should.

Just as he goes over a low-visibility (to avoid saying blind) crest he notices that there’s been a crash and around 5 or 6 cars are nearly stationary on the track. That is a big problem when you’re coming in hot with plenty of speed to plow through those cars in front of you.

Fortunately, great reflexes and brakes saved the day and nobody was hurt. This was one of those lucky situations though. Imagine what would’ve happened if the driver/car combo was different...
