Ladies and gentlemen drivers, we're here to bring you a real-world take on the brawl involving the BMW M4 and the Mercedes-AMG C63 Coupe. In fact, the fight involved the spiced-up incarnations of the German beasts, so we'll get to talk about the M4 Competition Package battling it out with the C63 S Coupe.
The piece of footage at the bottom of the page brings us an acceleration comparison involving the two rivals, with the stunt having been pulled by sport auto.

The German publication didn't film a drag race between the two, deciding to bring us a pair of dashboard instrument clips that were welded together. Both sportscars obviously used their Launch Control features and, without further ado, here are the numbers that resulted from this test:

While the M4 dominated the 0-25 mph (0-40 km/h sprint) covering this in 1.5 seconds, while the Affalterback machine required 0.1 seconds more for the task. The roles were reversed for the classic 0-62 mph run, which saw the Merc hitting the milestone velocity value in 4.2 seconds, while the Bimmer did the same 0.2 seconds later.

The video doesn't show this, but the 0-124 mph (200 km/h) acceleration times were also recorded: the M4 Competition Package once again fell behind the C63 S Coupe, with their times being 14.2 seconds and 13.5 seconds, respectively.

The 0 to 60 values mentioned above sit behind the official numbers, but this is the interesting part of a real-world test. However, before jumping to any conclusions, one would have to discuss aspects such as the driving surface, tire choice, wear and pressure, as well as the fuel level in the tank (the last wasn't the same for the two tested cars).

We'll also drop a brief tech reminder: while the 3.0-liter twin-turbo straight-six of the M4 Competition delivers 444 hp and 406 lb-ft of torque, the 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 of the C63 S Coupe churns out 507 hp and 516 lb-ft of torque.

P.S.: Despite the cameras filtering out the differences between the kind of experiences offered by these two archenemies, it's not difficult to spot the more laid back experience in the AMG vehicle or the extra effervescence offered by the M Division car.
