BMW M3 Tiger Matte Edition Is Here

One of our favorite performance cars, the BMW M3, is a quarter of a century old. To celebrate the M3’s 25 birthday, the German automotive producer has been introducing limited editions of the vehicle. One of these was the M3 Tiger Edition, which was only offered on the Japanese and Chinese markets.

As you can imagine, it didn’t take long for the model to receive the “sold out” label. However, BMW is now back with a new goodie of this kind, the Matte Edition M3.

The vehicle can be dressed in gunmetal matte-grey or matte-black and rides on 19-inch lightweight alloy rims. In addition to that, the coupe comes with a black chrome finish for the side air intakes, with the same color being used for the exhaust tips, as well as with red brake calipers.

As we are talking about a model that relies on exclusivity to attract buyers (the term “collectors” would probably be more appropriate), the interior is a key part of the strategy, as the person behind the wheel, along with the passengers, need a constant reminder of the fact that they are using a performance driving machine with a special aura. The cabin has been gifted with black carbon fiber trimming, as well as with red stitching for the seats and door arm rests.

Unfortunately (but not surprisingly) the changes haven’t included the engine compartment. We’re not complaining in any way about the M3’s standard 4.0-liter V8 that produces 420 hp, but you know us, we’ll always want more.
