BMW M3 by Autotechnik Gets Extra Power
As we said, the modifications brought by Autotechnik to the standard production model were mainly aimed to increase the car’s performances, while the only changes in the visual appearance are represented by the wheels.
As was to be expected, the modifications don’t come in cheap. The good news is that the M3’s 3.2-liter inline-six engine can now develop up to 459 hp and 498 Nm, while the bad news is that the increase of performance is worth 13,000 Euro. As we said, the pricing is a bit hefty, but you won’t regret it. Oh, and you might consider paying an extra 1,350 Euro for a sport muffler, made of high grade steel.
The tires, chassis and brakes were also taken into consideration by Kneißler, so additional features include a Stoptech-high performance brake system with 6-lobes (3,852 Euro) and a two part slit discs (size 380x32 mm) at the front axle, and a Stoptech brake system with 355/32 mm brake discs with 4-lobes (3,103 Euro) at the rear. Of course, a brake caliper air vent plug (109,00 Euro) from Stahlbus is also available to complete the brake system.
The Oxigin-alloys are available in sizes 8,5x20” and 11x20” and are hooped with high performance tires from Hankook, sizes 255/30-20 and 305/25-20. The price for the set is 2,723 Euro. For an extra 350 Euro the wheel arch are flanged and custom-fit applied.
Moreover, contributing to the sporty handling of the M3 supercharged are the KW-sport coilover kit V3 (1.749 Euro) and KW- sport stabilizers for 419 Euro. Finally, you can get the conversion to LSD-gull-wing-doors in Pfalzgrafenweiler for 1,990 Euro.
